Sonya Karpunina graduated at Moscow State University of Economics and Informatics in 2007, and film directing at VGIK in 2011. She participated at Sergej
Soloviev film The Classmates (2010) as co-writer and the main actress. Her short film The Chance (2010) won the Golden Egg award at the International Film and
Music Festival Kustendorf in 2011.
