Synopsis

Matko is a small time hustler, living with his 17 year old son Zare. He has a plan to sabotage a whole train of smuggled fuel. After this operation goes wrong he now owes money to Dadan, the community’s godfather. Dadan has a sister, Afrodita, that he desperately wants to see get married so they strike a deal: Zare is to marry her.

Emir Kusturica

Emir Kusturica is a Serbian film director, author of eleven feature films and several short and TV movies. Among his many prizes, he has received two Golden Palms in Cannes for When Father Was Away on Business and Underground, Golden Lion for Best first film in Venice for Do You Remember Dolly Bell? and Silver Bear in Berlin for Arizona Dream. His most recent film, On the Milky Road, was screened in 2016 at the festival in Venice. Emir Kusturica is founder and director of Kustendorf film festival.
