Synopsis
Fatma and her mother are Kurdish refugees in Italy. On their visit to the doctor, she has to translate what the doctor tells to her mother but she keeps silent.

Ali Asgari is an Iranian filmmaker who graduated in cinema in Italy. He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talent Campus 2013. His short films More Than Two Hours and The Silence (co-dirеcted by Farnoosh Samadi) were nominated for Short Film Palme D’or, while The Baby competed at Venice Film festival. His short films were screened at more than five hundred festivals around the world and won more than one hundred international awards. He is currently working on his first feature film Disappearance which was developed at Cinefondation Residence of Cannes Film Festival.
Farnoosh Samadi was born in Iran. She graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Rome. She started filmmaking at Iranian Youth Cinema Society and after that she made some video installations. She wrote scripts for the short films More Than Two Hours and The Baby directed by Ali Asgari. She is currently co-writing a feature film with Ali Asgari which is accepted at Cinefondation Residence of Cannes Film Festival. The Silence is her first short film.
