Dušan Kovačević

Dušan Kovačević (Mrđenovci, 1948) graduated in dramaturgy from the Academy of Theatre, Film, Radio and television in Belgrade. He has written 11 screenplays for awarded films, in particular Underground (1995, directed by Emir Kusturica, Palme d’Or, Festival de Cannes), Special Treatment (1980, directed by Goran Paskaljević, Best Supporting Actress, Festival de Cannes), Who’s Singin’ Over There (1980, directed by Slobodan Šijan, Special Prize of the Jury, Montreal World Film Festival), The Marathon Family (1981, directed by Slobodan Šijan), The Balkan Spy (1984, directed by Dušan Kovačević and Božidar Nikolić). He directed three films: The Balkan Spy, The Professional (2003), and Being Human Is Not So Bad (2022).

Božidar Bota Nikolić

Božidar Bota Nikolić (1942–2021) was a Serbian and Yugoslavian film director and director of photography. As a cinematographer, he filmed more than 30 feature films, more than 50 television films, 20 television series and a number of documentaries. He collaborated with prominent film directors, such as Živko Nikolić, Slobodan Šijan, Lordan Zafranović, Srđan Karanović, Miša Radivojević, Bora Drašković and Vatroslav Mimica. For his work as a director of photography, he was awarded Golden Arena in Pula twice, with Beasts (1977) and Life is Beautiful (1985). He received the Big Golden Arena for Best Film at Pula Film Festival, for The Balkan Spy (1984), together with co-director Dušan Kovačević.
