Synopsis

Joanna returns to her home village for her father’s funeral. On the night of her arrival, an explosive argument breaks out in the family. Joanna wants to fulfil her father’s wish for a secular funeral, but her mother is categorically opposed to the very idea. Determined to achieve her aim, Joanna begins to delve into her father’s history and character in more depth. As she does so, she uncovers some shocking facts about her parents’ lives.

Director's Biography
Tadeusz Kabicz
Graduate of the directing faculty of Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. He studied Polish Philology and Cultural Studies at the University of Warsaw. Author and producer of an independent documentary film The Castle. For many years, he has been conducting theater and film workshops for the youth. He is also active in the advertising industry. Creator of the short feature Ceremony produced by Munk Studio, member of the Polish Filmmakers Association. In 2019, he was the acting director of the Arterion Studio in Łódź. He works as director and assistant director in opera productions in Poland and abroad.
